Maegan Bowling came to yoga at a young age while studying anthropology at the College of Charleston South Carolina. She practiced Hatha yoga for many years before finding the Ashtanga practice in 2005. She fell in love with the breathing and moving the Ashtanga practice has to offer. The meditative state of the breath and vinyasa made her a convert and hooked for life.
She began teacher training in 2006 and started teaching regular classes in 2007. She has worked in studio settings as well as corporate wellness programs. She has done many continuing education workshops with David Swenson, David Williams, and Nancy Gilgoff. She has taken teacher training in primary series with Manju Jois as well as adjustment clinics in primary and intermediate series with Nancy Gilgoff.
She believes in the therapeutic benefits and strength of the ashtanga practice and hopes to spread these benefits through her kind and encouraging method of teaching. Though she has dedicated her life to teaching and spreading yoga joy, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, healthy cooking and nutrition, as well as making her own hair and body care products.
